Instructional MateRIAL

Instructional material for GIS Fundamentals includes lectures, labs, videos, figures, exam material, and answers to study questions.

Below are short descriptions of each resource and bulk download links. The index links to all material and the update log describes changes.

Exams/End-of-chapter study questions.

Email request@gisfundamentals.org for answers to odd-numbered end-of-chapter study questions and exam materials (over 1100 questions and counting) in several formats. Exam questions are also available for direct import via Canvas Commons.

Lectures

Each slide deck covers the main sections of each chapter. Many decks offer additional slides for case studies and deep dives. Slides are generically formatted so they import cleanly into other software packages (e.g., Google Slides, Keynote). Lectures 1-15 in MS PowerPoint format (Dropbox). See below for copyright and terms of use.

Labs

Lab overview slides, directions, data, and explanatory videos for ArcGIS Desktop 10, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS.
